The new range of Oase Bitron UV's with its unique self cleaning mechanism keeps the pond water in perfect condition without the need for routine maintenance.
All Oase Bitron UV's have one inlet and two outlets so that optimum flow can be maintained. The two outlets can be attached directly to any of the Oase Biotec filters without the need for hoses (with the exception of the Oase Bitron 9c and 11c). If you are using a filter with only one inlet you may wish to purchase a hose Tee or Y piece to connect the outlets in order to maximize the effectiveness of operation. It is possible to use the Bitron UV with only one outlet, however the pumps flow rate may be compromised (see table below).

Please note that the performance of any UV clarifier is affected by the type and quality of biological filtration used, the actual flow rate through the UV, the position of the pond with regards to light and heat, the relative dimensions of the pond (surface area and depth) and the amount of fish and plant stock.

The table above is based on a garden pond with average stock of goldfish some plants and in partial shade. For higher stocks/koi, more sun and or less plant the size of UV must be increased.
